Poha Chivda is a savoury Indian snack made with flattened rice flakes, spices, and nuts. It is a popular tea-time snack and can also be served as a crunchy topping over chaats or salads.
2 cups thin poha ¼ cup peanuts ¼ cup roasted chana dal ¼ cup raisins ¼ cup chopped cashews 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 2 green chillies, chopped ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder Salt, to taste 2 tablespoons oil Curry leaves, for garnish
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Allow them to crackle. Add chopped green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for a few seconds.
Add peanuts, roasted chana dal, chopped cashews, and raisins. Saute for 2-3 minutes or until the nuts turn slightly golden brown.
Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well. Add thin pohs and mix gently until all the ingredients are well combined.
Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat. Let the poha chivda cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
