The cuisine of South India is as diverse as the region itself, rice, lentils, chiles, and coconut are seen as staples. Amazing dishes prepared with coconut oil are found here.

1. Masala Dosa

This all time favourite dish is made with fermented rice and black gram batter. Thin and crispy dosa are delicious.

2. Uttapam

This is dosa’s fat cousin, made with fermented batter and veggies, topped with tomato, onion and coconuts.

3. Idli

These light fluffy and steamed dish is soothing and relaxing. Made with fermented rice batter served with chutneys.

4. Vada

These savoury Donut made with batter of legumes soaked in water and seasoned with cumin, onion, curry leaves or chilies.

5. Upma

It’s a thick porridge like dish made with rice flour or dry-roasted semolina. Customised  with vegetables, spices, curry leaves, and ground nuts.

6. Rasam

Rasam is a mildly hot soup like dish made with tomatoes, tamarind, black pepper, and other vegetables.

7. Payasam

Chop vegetables evenly and toss them in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper until everything is well-coated.

8. Lemon Rice

Light blend, with rice, tomatoes, onions, red chilly, lemon juice, and curry leaf. The infusion of turmeric gives a great taste.

9. South Indian Filter Coffee

The taste of this coffee is amazing, strong coffee made with coffee filter, sugar and milk. Frothy and creamy.
