While Delhi winters are quite popular so much that even songs are made on it, it is these winter desserts that make the season even more special and sweet.
Grab a bite of daulat ki chaat in Old Delhi because it only lasts 3 months. The richness and nuttiness is believed to have given it the unique name.
An interesting dessert that reflects the lingering Mughal influence, shahi tukda is a deep-fried slice of bread, coated in sugar syrup and drenched with a creamy rabri on top.
Since fresh red carrots are available in abundance during winter, they are grated and mixed with mawa and sugar to form a gooey gajar ka halwa.
Deep-fried entangled loops drenched in sugar syrup are referred to as jalebi. This sweet meat is often topped with a copious amount of creamy rabri.
Another winter specialty, moong dal halwa is a thick and rich pudding made with moong dal and loads of ghee. Filled with nuts and more, it is a delight to the taste buds.
