So many cocktails, so many stories to tell, but none quite as epic as that of the Tequila Sunrise.
This drink achieved legend status in 1969 when it was first served to rock idols The Rolling Stones at a private afterparty during their worldwide tour.
Jagger ordered a Margarita, but was handed a new creation by bartender Bobby Lozoff and after the first sip, he was hooked.
He ordered another round (and many more) for the band, their manager added it to their rider, and it became the signature drink of their tour. And the rest, as they say, is history...
60 ml white tequila 120 ml orange juice 15 ml grenadine
Pour the tequila and orange juice into a tall glass.
Slowly pour in the grenadine. It should sink to the bottom creating the signature sunset effect.
Garnish with an orange slice or cherry, serve chilled.
