Popular since the 19th century, Jack Rose is a bitter-sweet brandy cocktail that finds its earliest mentions in one of Ernest Hemmingway’s novel.
The drink lost relevance after modern cocktails came up but the tart and sweet flavours with its bright reddish hue still appeal to brandy connoisseurs.
• 30ml applejack • 10ml lime juice • 20ml grenadine
Take a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes and pour freshly squeezed lime juice to it, and then add the remaining two ingredients gently.
Shake and mix well. Strain into a coupe glass.
Your drink is finally ready! Garnish with a lemon wheel or by placing a cherry on the rim of the glass.
