Paneer is best enjoyed fresh. But storing it in the fridge properly can help it stay good for longer. Here are the best ways to keep paneer fresh and delicious so it stays soft and usable for all dishes.
Submerge the paneer block in a bowl of water and change the water daily. This keeps it hydrated and soft.
For better preservation store paneer in lightly salted water. This helps in maintaining texture and prevents spoilage.
Cut the paneer into small portions, wrap each piece in plastic and freeze. Thaw before use.
Store paneer in an airtight container so it doesn’t dry out and absorb fridge odours.
Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil on the paneer before storing. This locks in moisture.
Keep paneer away from strong-smelling foods as they can absorb the odours.
