Teej-Special Authentic Basundi Recipe You Can Make For The Festival

The traditional Gujarati dessert, Basundi is thick and sweetened milk that can be relished as is or poured over other desserts. To make this Teej-special dessert, follow these easy steps.

Ingredients

1 litre milk 1/2 cup sugar 4-5 strands saffron 4-5 green cardamom pods A pinch of nutmeg 2 tablespoons chopped almonds 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios 2 tablespoons chopped cashew nuts

Step 1

Boil the milk and then let it simmer till it is reduced to half the volume.

Step 2

Add crushed cardamom, saffron, and nutmeg. Stir well to combine the flavours.

Step 3

Once the milk has thickened, add sugar and stir till it dissolves.

Step 4

In another pan, lightly roast chopped nuts.

Step 5

Garnish the basundi with roasted nuts, and your dessert will be ready.
