2 tbsp ghee ½ tsp hing 1 chopped onion 1 ginger 1 tsp jeera 4 garlic cloves 2 chopped green chilies 2 chopped tomatoes ½ tsp turmeric powder ¾ tsp red chili powder ½ tsp garam masala Salt to taste 1 cup masoor dal 2 ½ cups water Coriander leaves to garnish

Soak masoor dal for at least 3 to 4 hours. Then, heat ghee in the pressure cooker over medium heat.

Add hing, ginger, garlic, onion and saute until the onions soften a bit. When the onions are cooked, add tomatoes.

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala powder. Stir and add soaked masoor dal, salt, and water.

Cover and cook it for 3-4 whistles. Then, cook for another 5 minutes and turn off the heat. Allow the pressure to release.

When done, add in coriander leaves. For tadka, heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, hing and chili powder.

Transfer the Masoor Dal to a serving bowl. Pour tadka over the Masoor Dal and serve!
