Taco Dip: The Perfect Party Snack Recipe

Think layers of all the classic elements of a good taco – salsa, sourcream, avocados and cheese. Make this flavoursome and simple recipe for a large group of people and enjoy with chips.

INGREDIENTS

10-12 mushrooms, sliced 3-4 cloves garlic, minced 2 avocados, mashed 1 onion, chopped 1 tomato, chopped ¼ cup fresh coriander, chopped Juice of 1 lemon ½ cup jarred salsa ½ cup sour cream ½ cup grated cheese 2 teaspoons red chilli flakes 2 tablespoons olive oil Salt and pepper, to taste

METHOD

Mix the onions, tomatoes, lemon juice, chopped coriander and some salt in a see-through bowl and spread onto an even layer at the bottom.

Dollop the sour cream over the mashed avocados and even the top surface.

METHOD

Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a pan and saute the mushrooms, garlic and red chilli flakes over high heat.

Once they begin to lose moisture, season with salt and pepper.

METHOD

Cool the mushrooms and add it over the sour cream-avocado layer.

METHOD

Spoon over the salsa and garnish with the cheese and serve immediately.
