Soft paneer (Indian cottage cheese) is cooked in a thick tomato-based gravy with a mixture of aromatic spices to create the classic Punjabi dish known as Lahori Paneer Masala.
400 gms Paneer 1 teaspoon red chili powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon oil For Gravy: 2 tablespoons oil 1 large onion, finely chopped 2 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 1 green chili, chopped 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Take panner and cut them into cubes. marinate them with red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and oil.
Now Mix well and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes. In a pan heat oil and fry the marinated paneer.
Now set it aside. In the pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil and add cumin seeds.
Now Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and green chili. Saute until the onions are translucent.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
Add 1/2 cup of water and bring the mixture to a boil. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Now Add the fried paneer cubes to the gravy and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5-7 minutes
Top it with with chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
