March has only just begun, yet we can already feel our bodies collapsing under the intense heat. Health issues like rashes, nausea, dehydration, and even stroke can be brought on by a heatwave. But, we are all prepared to fight it off, naturally through nutrition.
To maintain an ideal water balance in the body, it is typically advised to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses each day.
During times of intense heat, salted beverages assist restore salts lost. If you experience severe dehydration, have Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) in hand.
Several fruits with a high water content are available during the summer. So fill up your cupboard with fruits like mangoes, watermelons, oranges, muskmelon, cucumbers, and lemons.
That may be unexpected, but it has been shown that high-protein foods, such as red meats, are more challenging to digest, particularly in the summer.
Alcohol, tea, coffee, and soft drinks all have high sugar content and cause the body to retain less fluid. It is better to avoid such beverages during the height of summer.
