This traditional drink from Kerala is made by brewing dry ginger with coffee powder. Here is an easy recipe.
4 cups water, 1 tsp dry ginger powder, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp instant coffee powder, 20 tulsi, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 4 cardamom, 3 tsp jaggery, 1/4 tsp salt
Boil water in a saucepan and add in jaggery. Stir till it dissolves.
Then add in ginger powder, cumin seeds, coffee powder, black pepper and boil for about 4 minutes.
Now add tulsi leaves and let the mixture boil for 2-3 minutes. Then add cardamom powder, a bit of salt and urn off the heat.
Strain it into serving cups and enjoy.
