Out of all lifestyle diseases, diabetes has one of the deepest impact in our life. Diabetes effects our metabolism which is how our body breaks down food to produce energy. Diabetic patients have to maintain  strict diet which includes restrictions of certain food. Check them out:

Sugar

Not only white sugar but all types of  added sugar are to be avoided. This not only includes brown sugar, honey, molasses and even excess jaggery, but also artificial sugars like corn syrup, fruit syrups, etc.

Processed Food

Few components in processed food, be it cheese and chips or sausages and ready-to-cook meals, body finds it hard to break down. This includes added sugars, excess sodium and artificial flavours like monosodium glutamate (MSG) and preservatives that increase shelf life.

Trans Fats

Most delicious food, especially wide range of Indian foods are packed with trans fats. From baked goodies to fried ones, from full fat milk to meat, all foods packed with trans fats and should be avoided.

Refined Food

Whether it is refined flour or maida or refined or polished grains like white rice and basmati rice should be avoided by diabetic patients. 

Dried Fruits

Although they are a delicious way to satisfy your appetite and sweet tooth, and contain good amount of fibre. Unfortunately, they’re loaded with sugar and should be avoided by diabetic patients. 

Higher-Fat Cuts Of Meat

Meats that have higher fat content like beef, or pork ribs, prime rib, rib-eye steak and beef brisket should be avoided. Patients with diabetes should strictly avoid. Reace high-fat meats with leaner ones chicken or turkey breast.

Alcohol

If you are diabetes, alcohol should be completely avoided. Not only does alcohol impair the liver’s ability to produce glucose—which then impacts insulin production—but it also interferes with diabetes and other essential medications.
