Malai Chaap is a popular veg dish made with soya chaap, coated in a creamy marinade and grilled to perfection. Malai Chaap is usually served as a party starter or evening snack. It goes well with green chutney and onion rings.
6-7 soya chaap sticks ½ cup fresh cream ½ cup thick yoghurt (dahi) 2 tbsp cashew paste 2 tbsp grated cheese 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp white pepper powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp chaat masala Salt to taste 1 tbsp lemon juice 2 tbsp butter Fresh coriander leaves
Take the chaap sticks and boil them in salted water for 5-6 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
In a bowl, mix yoghurt, fresh cream, cashew paste, grated cheese, ginger-garlic paste, white pepper powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt and lemon juice.
Coat the boiled soya chaap sticks evenly with the prepared marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Heat a grill pan and brush it with butter. Grill the marinated chaap on medium flame until golden brown and slightly charred.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with green chutney and onion rings.
