Strawberry Apple Turnovers: A Simple Sweet Treat

A variation of the classic apple turnover in honour of strawberries being back in season!  Even for the most beginner level, these are easy to make at home and look so professional when finished.

Ingredients

250 gms strawberries 1 ripe apple 50 gms sugar 2 tbsp amaretto syrup 3 tbsp melted butter 1 packet premade puff pastry

Step 1

Peel and core the apple and top the strawberries. Dice them into even sizes and add to a saucepan.  Add the sugar and amaretto syrup and heat gently for 20-30 minutes until it starts to thicken.

Step 2

Let the filling cool and then spoon some into the centre of each puff pastry piece and fold into a triangle.  Poke some holes in the top, brush with melted butter and bake at 190°C for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden.
