Peeling garlic is usually a tedious process. However, if garlic is kept peeled for too long it tends to get spoilt. Here are some easy ways to store them so that they remain fresh.

Refrigerate In An Airtight Container

This method keeps the garlic fresh for about a week by preventing exposure to air and moisture.

Submerge In Oil

After submerging the peeled cloves in oil, store the jar in the refrigerator. Ensure the garlic is fully covered with oil. This method keeps garlic fresh for up to 2 weeks and infuses the oil with a subtle flavour.

Freeze Whole Cloves

Frozen garlic cloves can be stored for several months and used as needed in cooking.

Freeze Minced Garlic

Mince or chop peeled garlic and portion it into ice cube trays. Freeze until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container. This method makes it easy to use pre-portioned garlic in recipes.

Pickled

Pickle peeled garlic cloves in a brine made of vinegar, water, salt, and optional spices. Store the jar in the refrigerator, where the pickled garlic can last for several months.

Vacuum Seal

Use a vacuum sealer to store peeled garlic cloves in vacuum-sealed bags. This method extends the shelf life by removing air and preventing oxidation, keeping the garlic fresh in the refrigerator for up to several weeks.
