Steps To Make Kamaal Dhaabe Waali Dal

Dal is a dish that every Indian household enjoys with chawal or chapati. In fact, dal-chawal is the comfort food for many. Here are steps to make dhaabe waali dal at home.

Ingredients

250 gms kaali dal 150 gms chana dal 1 tsp Cumin seeds 1 tsp dhaniya powder 1 tsp red chilli powder A pinch of hing 1 rsp garam masala 2 dried red chillies 1 sliced onion'1 sliced tomato Salt Haldi Ghee

Step 1

Add water, pulses, salt and haldi powder in a pressure cooker and cook till 5 whistles. 

Step 2

In another pan, heat up ghee and add red chillies and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

Step 3

Add the onions and tomatoes. Cook till they become soft.

Step 4

Add the powdered spices and cook till your tadka is ready, with an aromatic flavour.

Step 5

Add the tadka to your boiled dal and give it a boil. Garnish with dhaniya leaves ad serve.
