Amid rampant reports of adulteration and food safety, many people worry if the soya chaap they are eating has any soya in it. Some vendors make these sticks only with maida. Here is your way of making soya chaap sticks at home without hassle.
½ cup soya chunks 1 cup ground soya powder 1 cup maida Water as needed Salt to taste
Knead maida into a soft dough using water. Add a bit of salt before kneading.
Soak soya chunks and grind them into a chunky mixture.
Wash the dough in water after half an hour until you are left with gluten.
Mix the dough with soya chunks. Add the mixture gradually and keep kneading.
If the dough is sticky, add the ground powder of soya chunks.
Roll the dough, cut into strips, and wrap them on a wooden ice cream stick. Make soya chaap curry or store it in an airtight container for future use.
