Step-By-Step Guide To Make Tangy Lemon Rice

As the weather is changing gradually, people are bracing up to welcome winter. You would no longer want to cook but definitely want to indulge in delicacies. Lemon rice is one such quick and chatpata dish that you must learn to cook.

Ingredients

2-3 tbsp lemon juice 1.5 cups uncooked rice 4 tbsp peanuts 7-8 curry leaves ½ tsp turmeric powder ¾ tsp mustard seeds 2 slit green chillies 2 dried red chillies 1 tbsp chana dal A pinch of asafoetida 1 tsp urad dal Salt to taste

Step 1

Wash rice and cook it for 2-3 whistles. Let it cool off.

Step 2

Heat oil in a kadhai and add slit green chillies, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, red chillies, and curry leaves.

Step 3

Saute until dal turns slightly brown and crispy. Add hing and turmeric to the mix.

Step 4

Top the spices with cooked rice and toss the ingredients gradually.

Step 5

Add salt to taste and lemon juice on top.

Step 6

Serve lemon rice hot with raita or rasam.
