Upma is an easy breakfast recipe that you can prepare on a hectic morning. It is also a comfort recipe if you are unwell and want to indulge in something lightweight. Try the South Indian recipe.
1 tsp grated ginger 1 sprig of curry leaves 1 tbsp peanuts 1 cup rava 1 tbsp chopped coriander 1 tsp chana dal 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp urad dal 1 tbsp coconut oil 1.5 cups of water 2 red chillies 1 sliced onion
Heat a saucepan and add oil to it. Saute chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves, red chillies, mustard seeds, and ginger in it.
Add onion slices and wait for them to caramelise.
Fold in semolina or rava in the pan, pour water, and put on the lid.
Sprinkle red chilli powder and toasted peanuts once the mixture starts to thicken.
Add coriander leaves on the top and turn off the flame.
Enjoy upma for breakfast or a snack.
