Dhokla is a popular Gujarati snack that is prepared across Indian households. It is lightweight, can be prepared in advance, and goes well with morning or evening tea. This short guide will help you understand how to use a microwave oven to make this spongy delight.
½ tsp turmeric 1.5 cups besan Water as needed ½ tsp salt 1 tbsp fruit salt or 2 tbsp baking powder
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Take a bowl and mix all the dry ingredients except for baking powder or fruit salt.
Add water and whisk the ingredients to make a smooth batter. Its consistency should be thick and runny.
Grease a baking pan. Add baking powder to the batter and pour it into the pan.
Place the baking pan in another pan with water. Cook the dhokla for 30-40 minutes in the oven.
Once done, temper it with lemon juice, water, mustard seeds, green chillies, and curry leaves.
