Whoever told you that you must own an oven to make buns played a trick on you. An oven surely makes the process seamless, but you can bake your favourite bun without the kitchen appliance. Here is how.
1.5 tsp dry yeast 3 cups maida Salt to taste ½ cup warm milk 2 tbsp olive oil ¼ cup water 2 tsp sugar Water as needed
Add water, sugar, and yeast to warm milk. Let the ingredients sit for 5 minutes.
Add flour, salt, and oil to the concoction and knead the ingredients into a sticky dough.
After letting the dough sit for an hour, you will witness a rise in it. Punch out the air and divide it into equal portions.
Keep the portions aside for another 30 minutes. Boil ¼ cup water and a tablespoon of oil in a pan.
Place the buns in the pan and cover it with a lid for 5 minutes.
Flip the buns and cook them again for 5-8 minutes before serving.
