Sprouting moong at home is simple and doesn’t require a fancy sprout maker. With just a few kitchen essentials, you can enjoy fresh, nutritious sprouts in no time.
Begin by rinsing ½ cup of moong dal thoroughly. Soak it in water overnight or for at least 8-10 hours.
After soaking, drain the water completely. Rinse the moong again to remove any impurities.
Place the soaked moong in a clean, damp cotton cloth or muslin. Tie the cloth securely, ensuring the moong has space to expand.
Place the wrapped moong in a warm, dark area, like inside a cupboard. Leave it undisturbed for 12-24 hours.
After 12-24 hours, check your moong. It should have sprouted, with small shoots appearing. If needed, leave it for a few more hours.
Once sprouted, rinse the moong and use it in salads, sandwiches, or other dishes.
