Spicy Masala Idli To Give The South Indian Staple A Twist

Ingredients

5-6 premade idlis 1 onion 2-3 green chillies 1 tomato 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp garam masala A pinch of hing Coriander leaves for garnish Oil for cooking Salt to taste

Step 1

Heat some oil and add cumin seeds. Add chopped onion, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

Step 2

Add chopped tomatoes,  turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and hing.

Step 3

Mash the tomatoes and cook till you get a thick gravy. Season with salt.

Chop the idlis into bite-sized pieces and coat them in the masala. Cook for a few minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
