Onion chutney is a flavourful and tangy condiment that perfectly complements dosas. This easy-to-make chutney adds a spicy kick to your traditional South Indian meal.
2 large onions, sliced 3-4 dried red chillies 1 small piece of tamarind 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram) Salt to taste
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and urad dal. Fry until the seeds splutter and the dal turns golden. Add sliced onions and dried red chillies to the pan. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
Add tamarind and salt, then cook for another minute. Let the mixture cool, then blend it into a smooth paste.
Serve the chutney alongside hot dosas. Enjoy!
