South Indian Tomato Chutney Recipe To Elevate Snacking Experience

South Indian tomato chutney accompanies recipes like dosa, vada, idli, etc. It is delicious and amplifies the flavour of any dish. If you have been craving it, try this recipe.

Ingredients

1-inch ginger 4-5 garlic cloves 250 grams of tomatoes Salt to taste ⅛ tsp turmeric, mustard seeds ½ tsp cumin seeds 1.5 tbsp oil 1 dried red chilli A pinch of hing 7-8 curry leaves ¼ tsp red chilli powder

Step 1

Rinse tomatoes and cut them in half. Add oil to a pan and roast them until their skins are easily peeled.

Step 2

Toss them with some salt, turmeric, and garlic cloves. Keep the ingredients aside to cool off.

Step 3

Add tomatoes to a grinder and blend the ingredients into a small paste.

Step 4

Prepare a tempering of chopped garlic, mustard seeds, hing, red chillies, curry leaves, and red chilli powder.

Step 5

Pour the tempering into the tomato chutney and enjoy it with snacks.
