Madras mixture is a crunchy South Indian snack featuring roasted peanuts, dal noodles, cashews, and spices like turmeric and chilli powder, offering a savoury-spicy delight perfect for snacking.
1 cup roasted peanuts 1 cup dal noodles (crispy lentil noodles) 1/2 cup cashews 1/4 cup raisins (optional) 10–12 curry leaves 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon chilli powder Salt to taste Oil for frying
In a bowl, add roasted peanuts, crispy dal noodles, cashews, and curry leaves. Optionally, include raisins for sweetness.
Take a pan, heat oil and fry crispy dal noodles until golden and crisp. Drain the excess oil and set it aside.
Fry roasted peanuts, cashews and curry leaves until crunchy and lightly browned. Drain and set aside.
In a bowl, combine fried dal noodles, peanuts, cashews, curry leaves, and raisins. Mix well.
Sprinkle turmeric powder, chilli powder, and salt over the mixture. Toss to coat evenly.
Now, cool the mixture and store it in an airtight container. Enjoy it as a crunchy snack with tea or coffee.
