South Indian Curd Rice, also known as Thayir Sadam, is a popular and traditional South Indian meal. It is a simple yet soothing dish of rice combined with yoghurt and spiced to taste.
1 cup cooked rice 1 cup plain Curd 1/4 cup milk 1 tbsp oil 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1-2 green chilies 1/2-inch piece of ginger A few curry leaves A pinch of asafoetida 2 tbsp chopped coriander
Start with Mashing the cooked rice using a spoon or your hands. In a bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
Now Add the mashed rice to the yogurt and mix well. In a pan Heat oil Add mustard seeds .
Add cumin seeds, green chilies, grated ginger, curry leaves, and asafoetida. Pour the tempering over the rice and yogurt mixture.
Mix well to incorporate the tempering into the rice. Add salt to taste. Adjust the consistency.
Once done garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Enjoy this creamy and tasty Indian dish!
