Indulge in the tantalizing blend of ripe tomatoes, aromatic garlic, and fiery spices with this traditional South Indian chutney. A perfect accompaniment to dosa and idli.
3-4 ripe tomatoes 6-7 garlic cloves 2-3 dried red chilies 1 tbsp oil (preferably coconut oil) 1 tsp mustard seeds A pinch of asafoetida Curry leaves ( Optional) Salt to taste Water (as needed)
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds and dried red chilies. Saute well.
Now Add the garlic cloves. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and mix well until they are soft.
Let the mixture cool down. Now blend In a pan heat oil and add a pinch of asafoe tida and curry leaves.
Now Pour the tempering mixture over the blended chutney and mix well. Serve this with South Indian snacks.
