Poha is a healthy recipe that is often enjoyed for breakfast. It is basically flattened rice that is cooked with several spices and veggies. But when it comes to preparing the dish for babies or children, you should be careful not to make it overly spicy, ensure that the poha is soft enough for them to eat and ensure that the dish doesn't contain a lot of salt.
1/2 cup of poha 1 small, grated carrot 1 small, boiled and mashed potato 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon ghee or vegetable oil Salt to taste
Rinse the poha under running water until it becomes soft. Drain excess water and set it aside.
In a pan, heat ghee or oil over low heat. Add the grated carrot and sauté until soft.
Add turmeric and cumin powder, and mix well. Add the mashed potato to the pan and stir to combine with the carrots.
Add the softened poha to the pan, and mix gently with the vegetables.
Add a little water to moisten the mixture if needed. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.
Season lightly with salt (optional, as per the baby's diet). Cool the poha slightly before serving it to your baby. Ensure it is soft and easy for them to eat.
