A common Indian delicacy called gulab jamun is made by deep-frying little balls of khoya and soaked in a sugar syrup with rosewater and cardamom flavours.
1 cup khoya (dried milk solids) 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter), melted 2-3 tablespoons milk (as needed to make a soft dough) Oil or ghee for frying 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 1/2 cups water 3-4 green cardamom pods, crushed 1 teaspoon rose water
Take melted ghee, add Khoya, flour, and baking powder in a bowl and mix it well .
Prepare a dough of the mixture by adding milk little by little and then make small balls of the dough.
Now Boil sugar, water and crushed cardamom in low heat and let it simmer till the sugar is completely diluted.
Heat the oil/ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Now add the dough balls and fry until they are golden brown
After taking fried Gulab Jamun balls out, pour them into sugar syrup for 30 mins.
Top the gulab jamuns with almond and pistachio. Enjoy!
