A slow cooker and a crock pot are common kitchen appliances. They are at the peak of their popularity in the current era, where people simply don't have enough time to cook their meals. The terms "slow cooker" and "crock pot" are often used interchangeably but they are not entirely the same.

The "crock pot" has become a generic term for the appliance, although it was the first brand for slow cookers. "Slow cooker" is not a brand name.

Crock pots mostly have two heat settings: low and high wattage. Slow cookers, though, provide at least five heat settings.

Crock pots usually feature a porcelain or ceramic build, whereas slow cookers are mostly metal pots with a heating unit on top.

Crock pots cook continuously with a set timer on. Slow cookers have the feature of powering on and off during cooking and can work in cycles.

There shouldn't be any such confusion. To put it clearly, all crock pots are slow cookers but not all slow cookers are crock pots.
