Skip Red Tomatoes, Make Hare Tamatar Ki Chutney

Red tomatoes are a staple in most Indian kitchens, but if you find green tomatoes (hara tamatar), don’t miss the chance to make this vibrant, tangy chutney. Packed with flavour, it’s the perfect accompaniment to any meal. 

Bread Pakora

4–5 green tomatoes (hara tamatar), chopped 1 small onion, chopped 2 green chillies 1-inch piece ginger 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves Salt, to taste 1 tsp mustard oil

Step 1

In a blender, add chopped green tomatoes, onion, green chillies, ginger, and coriander leaves. Blend until you achieve a coarse or smooth consistency, based on preference. 

Step 2

Add salt to taste and a small drizzle of mustard oil for a smoky, rich flavour if desired.  

Step 3

Transfer to a bowl and serve fresh as a side with parathas, rice, or even as a dip.
