A delicately flavoured beverage to enjoy when it’s hot outside, this sharbat is one of the most delicious and simple ways to cool off. Made with minimal ingredients almost instantly, enjoy drinking this on your own or share with a group of friends.

INGREDIENTS

½ teaspoon saffron strands 1.5 teaspoons sugar 30 ml rose water Water, for topping up

STEP 1

Crush the saffron and sugar using a mortar-pestle into a fine powder, before adding to a shot glass.

STEP 2

Pour in the rose water and mix until the water turns an amber hue.

STEP 3

Transfer to a serving glass filled with ice and pour water to top up and dilute the essence. Serve immediately.
