By Deepali Verma

Your lunch would be ruined if the rice had burned. Find out how to remove the unpleasant burnt smell and save your dish.

Remove The Burnt Layer

It is important to remove the burned layer of rice off the top of the rice carefully in order to stop the smell from spreading.

 Lemon Juice

Combine the charred rice with the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Don't rush it; give it a few minutes to soak before rinsing.

Fresh Herbs

The burnt rice can be disguised by adding a handful of fresh herbs like mint, cilantro, or parsley after it has been cooked.

Transfer To A New Container

Move the unburnt rice to one container and the charred rice to another, then discard the burned rice.

Add A Slice Of Bread

Cover the container once you have placed a slice of bread on top of the rice. The bread will help in absorbing the scent of burning food.
