Mahashivratri 2024: How To Make Thandai Powder At Home

Consumed with or without bhang, thandai is a sweet and nutritious Indian drink that is commonly enjoyed during Shivratri. Learn to make the powder for the drink at home.

Ingredients

1/2 cup almonds 1/3 cup cashews 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns 2 tablespoon fennel seeds 2 tablespoon poppy seeds 30 green cardamom pods 2 tablespoons dried rose petals 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands

Step 1

Add all ingredients to a spice grinder.

Step 2

Grind until you get a smooth powder.

Step 3

Store in an airtight container and use as needed.

Step 4

To prepare the drink; add one tablespoon of the powder in one cup of warm milk. Stir well and serve chilled.
