Sawan Special Aloo Tamatar Sabzi For A Fast-Friendly Meal

The holy month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva where Somwar (Monday) gets its due importance. If you observe a fast on Mondays, here is a delicious, fast-friendly aloo tamatar recipe that you can enjoy.

Ingredients

4 potatoes 2 tomatoes, chopped 1 green chilli 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 bay leaf 1 black cardamom pod 1 clove 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste Chopped coriander leaves, for garnish

Step 1

Boil potatoes, peel, and cut them into cubes. Chop tomatoes into small pieces.

Step 2

Heat some oil and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, black cardamom pod, and clove. Let them splutter.

Step 3

Add green chillies and chopped tomatoes. Cook till they are mushy.

Step 4

Mix in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and coriander powder. Add chopped potatoes and cook.

Step 5

Add water to adjust consistency. Season with salt and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

Step 6

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
