Samak Rice Vrat Dosa is a delicious and nutritious dosa recipe made with barnyard millet and sabudana, perfect for fasting days. It is easy to prepare and pairs well with chutney or dahi.
1 cup Samak rice ½ cup Sabudana ½ cup thick curd Sendha namak or rock salt, as per taste Oil, for cooking
In a bowl, combine the Samak rice and Sabudana. Rinse them 2-3 times with water. Drain well and soak them in 2 cups of water for at least 4 hours.
After 4 hours, drain the water and blend the soaked rice and Sabudana in a mixer with curd. Do not add water while grinding. Blend until you get a smooth paste.
Add rock salt as per taste. Mix well and the batter is ready to use; there is no need for fermentation. If desired, you can add ¼ teaspoon of baking soda to the batter.
Heat a nonstick griddle and pour a ladleful of batter onto it. Spread the batter in a circular motion to make a dosa.
Apply a little oil on the sides of the dosa. Cook until the color of the dosa changes to brown. Serve fresh with chutneys or sauce.
