Sawan 2023- 10 Healthy Snacks To Indulge This Festive Month

Sawan month holds a significant position among the Hindus. The month is considered most auspicious. Lord Shiva is worshipped during the Sawan month Sawan Somwar is dedicated to worship Lord Shiva. During this month you can have healthy snacks and avoid other junks which you usually gulp in other months. Check out the healthy snacks. 

Sabudana Khichdi 

Made with tapioca pearls, this dish is a popular fasting snack. It is cooked with peanut, potatoes and mild spices. 

Fruit Chaat 

This is a refreshing dish which combines a variety of  fresh fruits like apples, pineapples, bananas, strawberries and others. It has a touch of tangy and spicy dressing of chaat masala and squeezed lemons.

Makhana 

This is a healthy snack of the Sawan month. It can be consumed roasted or lightly sauteed. They are light, crunchy and rich in nutrients.

Samak Chilla 

This savory pancake can be made using samak flour. To make it healthy and tasty, different veggies like beans, carrots can be added. 

Rajgira Pops 

This is a sweet as well as a healthy snacks. Roasted amaranth seeds mixed with jaggery or sugar makes a healthy, delicious and crunchy snack. 

Aloo Tikki 

Although enjoyed as a tea-time snack, this is a perfect Sawan snack enjoyed after fasting. It is made using boiled and mashed potatoes. Add water and chestnut flour for binding and light fry until golden brown. 

 Fruit Yogurt 

Fruits like pomegranate or cucumber can be added to yogurt and raita can be made. This is a refreshing dish. 

Idli 

Steamed rice and urad dal, moulded into soft idlis is our all time favourite snack. It can be served with sambhar and coconut chutney. 

Lauki Fry 

Fritters can be made with lauki. Grated lauki mixed with water, chestnut flour, mild spices and herbs can be shallowed fired to make it tasty. 

Sattu Sarbat 

Sattu sarbat can be made with sattu, water and some mild roasted spices. Besides being tasty and refreshing, it is also healthy and nutritious.
