Paneer is a very familiar ingredient in the Indian kitchen, but it's a diverse one that can be adapted well to almost any cuisine. This recipe takes inspiration from East Asian flavours for a hearty meal.
500g paneer, sliced into steaks 2 tbsp sesame seeds 2 tbsp cornstarch 1 tbsp oil Salt to taste For the sauce: ¼ cup ketchup 2 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp rice vinegar 2 tbsp honey 1 tsp ginger paste 1 tsp garlic paste
In a bowl, mix together the ketchup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ginger paste, and garlic paste.
Place your paneer steaks in the sauce and marinate for 30 minutes.
In a bowl, mix together the sesame seeds, cornstarch, and salt. Coat the paneer steaks in this mixture.
Heat the oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the paneer steaks in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve hot.
