Sattu is a popular ingredient in India and both parathas and chillas made of sattu are nutritious and tasty. When you need a healthy, quick breakfast, a sattu chilla is a great option.
1 cup sattu (roasted gram flour) ½ cup finely chopped onions ½ cup finely chopped tomatoes 1-2 green chillies 2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped) ½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain) ½ tsp cumin seeds (jeera) ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli powder Salt Water Oil or ghee
In a mixing bowl, add sattu, onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, carom seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, red chilli powder, and salt.
Gradually add water and whisk to form a smooth, flowing batter (not too thick or runny).
Heat a tawa or pan and lightly grease it with oil or ghee.
Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it gently like a pancake.
Cook on medium heat until the edges lift and the bottom turns golden brown. Flip and cook the other side until crispy and fully cooked.
