During Navratri, many people observe fast and abstain from eating savouries during the day. Among the popular choices for desserts, samak rice kheer is worth a shot. It is healthy and helps to curb cravings. Here is your guide.
3.5 tbsp sugar ¼ cup rice 3-4 saffron strands 1 tbsp raisins 1 tbsp almonds 2.5 cups milk A pinch of cardamom
Soak samak rice for 20-30 minutes. Drain the excess water and keep the grains aside.
Boil milk in a heavy-bottom pan and add rice to it.
Once the grains soften, add saffron and cardamom powder to it.
Let the ingredients simmer. Add sugar and wait for it to dissolve.
Drop in finely chopped nuts and raisins. Turn off the flame.

Refrigerate the kheer and enjoy it cold.
