Malpua is a common delicacy made in homes during festivities and pujas. Saffron malpua is a clever upgrade that adds taste, texture, and royalty to your regular malpua. Make sure to try out this easy upgraded recipe for an authentic taste.
1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup milk 1 egg 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder A few strands of saffron Oil for deep frying Sugar syrup (made with 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water)
Combine flour, milk, egg, sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands. Mix well to form a smooth batter.
Pour ladlefuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry and immediately soak the fried malpuas in the sugar syrup.
Serve hot with vanilla ice-cream.
