Made with roasted peanuts, tamarind, oil and spices, this chutney adds a burst of flavours to your bland meals. Here is an easy recipe to make peanut chutney at home.

1 cup roasted peanuts, 4 onions (chopped), 8 garlic (chopped), 5 whole dry red chillies, 3 tbsp groundnut oil, ½ tamarind (lemon sized ball) ¼ asafoetida, salt to taste

Heat groundnut oil in a pan, add chopped onion, garlic and sauté for 4-5 minutes.

Add peanuts, red chillies, tamarind, asafoetida and salt. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minute.

Switch off the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Grind the mixture to slightly coarse texture with a little water.

Serve and store the remaining in the refrigerator.
