Rice Kanji: Recipe For Homemade Probiotics To Improve Digestion

Probiotics are essential for gut health but people are often confused about how to add them to their diet. A bowl of homemade rice kanji is all you need to ensure your digestive system is healthy and you consume a healthy meal.

Ingredients

1 cup cooked rice ½ tsp mustard, cumin seeds 1 tbsp coriander leaves ½ tsp coconut oil 1.5 cups water 1 tbsp coriander leaves ¼ cup curd 1 chopped onion Salt to taste 2 slit green chillies ½ tsp hing 4-5 curry leaves 2 dry red chillies

Step 1

Take an earthen pot and soak cooked rice in it for a night.

Step 2

Add chopped onions, salt, green slit chillies and curd in the morning.

Step 3

Give this mixture a good swirl.

Step 4

Heat some coconut oil and add mustard seeds, hing, and cumin seeds.

Step 5

Once seeds start crackling, drop in red chillies and curry leaves.

Step 6

Temper rice kanji and enjoy it with aloo pitika (aloo bhorta) or as is.
