Mysore masala dosa is a popular South Indian delight, which is not just limited to Karnataka. If you love eating Mysore masala dosa in your nearest South Indian eatery, here’s how you can make it at home.
For the batter: 1 cup rice 1/4 cup urad dal 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds 1 cup water Salt to taste For the masala: 2 potatoes 1/2 onion 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste Oil for cooking
Rinse and soak rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds overnight.
Grind the soaked mixture into a smooth batter and let it ferment.
Heat some oil and saute chopped onion. Add cubed potatoes and cook till soft.
Mix in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Set aside.
Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladle of fermented batter. Spread it into a circle and cook till crisp.
Place a spoonful of the cooked masala in the centre of the dosa. Fold it and serve with sambar.
