Republic Day 2024: This Tricolour Pancake Is A Must Try

Whole Wheat, Buttermilk Pancakes with Fresh Blueberries and Maple Syrup

To add a tasty touch to Republic Day celebrations, try making a tricolour pancake in the colours of the Indian flag. Having this patriotic morning treat on hand is a great way to celebrate the event in style and with good food.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour 1 Tbsp sugar 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt 1 cup milk 1 large egg 2 tbsp melted butter Orange and green food colouring

Step 1 

Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl, gently combine the milk, egg, and melted butter.

Step 2

Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until they are just combined. Split the batter into three equal parts. Keep one portion as it is, add orange food colouring to another, and green to the remaining portion.

Step 3 

Heat up a pan and pour small circles of each batter to create a beautiful tricolour effect. Continue cooking until bubbles appear, then flip the pancake and cook the opposite side.

Step 4

Stack the pancakes in the order of the Indian flag's colours. Serve with maple syrup or your favorite toppings and enjoy this patriotic treat on Republic Day.
