The summer months can be frustrating since the craving to indulge in something chilled is always present. But instead of opting for caffeinated drinks that are loaded with sugar, why not try a drink that perfectly represents summer flavours with this refreshing mango bubble tea? It tastes fabulous and comes together in a matter of minutes.
1/2 cup diced, ripe mango 1 cup of chilled black tea 1/2 cup milk 2 tablespoons of honey 1/4 cup cooked tapioca pearls (boba pearls) Ice cubes Mango chunks for garnish
Start by brewing black tea. Let it cool completely, then chill it in the refrigerator.
In a blender, combine the diced mango and honey. Blend until smooth to make a mango puree.
Cook the tapioca pearls. Once cooked, drain and rinse them under cold water. Set aside. In a glass, add a few ice cubes. Pour in the chilled black tea until the glass is about 3/4 full.
Spoon the mango puree over the tea. You can adjust the amount based on how strong you want the mango flavour to be. Pour the milk over the mango puree. Stir gently.
Carefully add the cooked tapioca pearls to the glass.
If desired, garnish the drink with mango chunks or slices on top. Insert a wide straw into the glass to enjoy the tapioca pearls.
