A perfect beverage to beat the summer heat using fresh jamun (Indian blackberries), spices, and a hint of tanginess.
1 cup ripe Jamun (Indian blackberries), deseeded 4 cups water 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste) 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp black salt (kala namak) 1/4 tsp black pepper powder A pinch of rock salt (sendha namak) Mint leaves for garnish Ice cubes (optional)
Wash the Jamun thoroughly and remove the seeds. In a blender, add the deseeded Jamun and water..
Blend until smooth, strain the Jamun puree. Discard the remaining solids.
Add sugar to the extracted juice and mix well. Now, add roasted cumin powder and black salt.
Add black pepper powder, rock salt. Garnish with mint leaves. Serve chilled.
