Mug cakes are ideal single-serve desserts that are highly convenient treats without working a sweat. This recipe uses staple ingredients and is quite easy to prepare.
4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 1/4 teaspoon baking powder A pinch of salt 3 tablespoons of milk 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon red food colouring Optional: Cream cheese frosting or whipped cream for topping
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt in a cup that can be placed in the microwave. Blend well.
Add the oil, milk, food colouring (red), and vanilla essence. Mix the batter until it's fully blended and smooth.
Cook in the microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes, depending on the microwave, or until the cake is cooked through and has risen.
Let it cool down for a minute. If preferred, top with whipped cream or cream cheese icing.
